How to use OLUV soft clumping cat litter

Fill

OLUV works best at a depth of 5cm or more, if your cat is a deep scratcher we recommend a deep-sided tray. Give the litter a final levelling-off so your cats have a nice, smooth surface to dig in.

If you are switching to OLUV from another litter - have no fear - all our testers said their cats preferred OLUV's formulation to their usual product and no transitioning was necessary. However, if you'd like to go slow and steady, we suggest placing approximately one quarter of OLUV in with your usual litter, gradually increasing the OLUV volume and transitioning to a full tray of OLUV over the course of one week.

Scoop & Replenish

OLUV makes poop-scooping easy, litter coats the poo meaning it won’t stick to the scoop. Your tray should be scooped at least twice a day, and more often if needed. The next step is entirely up to you, some testers preferred removing around half a litre of litter every three or four days and replacing this with fresh litter, eventually completely changing the litter after a week. However, other testers preferred an extra deep base to start, adding no further clean litter but completely renewing the litter after 5-7 days

Clean & Refill

OLUV's wood-like fibres neutralise odours and absorb waste before it sticks to the tray, so there won’t be stubborn solidified waste lurking at the bottom but we do recommend emptying and cleaning the tray at least once per week. This timeframe is dependent on the number of users, trays and routines.  It's also good to remember that you can put your used litter into your empty OLUV bag and then put it straight into your bin or in one of our compostable poop bags!
